From A Humiliating Bet To The Boss He Can’t Have Chapter 19
We hadn’t been in contact for two years, and Lily’s profile photo had changed to a graduation picture.
I looked at those three lines and didn’t answer right away.
A few minutes later, she sent me a link.
Sloane had made her Instagram public again.
She had edited the video from the engagement party down to a few dozen seconds, leaving only the shots of me taking off the ring, returning the cuff links, and turning away.
The caption was long.
She said I had been using Grant from the beginning.
She said I had enjoyed four years of luxury, then carefully staged my departure when I realized the prenup would keep me from getting any property.
She also claimed that all the chat records from two years ago had been organized by Grant’s assistant and couldn’t prove whether anything was real.
The final sentence was:
[When a rich man wants a woman back, he can push any friend out to take the blame.]
There weren’t many comments.
But some people had already reposted it to my company’s public page, asking why the company had put an “emotional con artist” in charge of a major project.
I closed the link and called my lawyer.
“Do we still have everything from two years ago?”
