From A Humiliating Bet To The Boss He Can’t Have Chapter 26

Sloane’s lawyer proposed a private settlement.

The terms were that she would delete the post and stop mentioning me, and in exchange I would stop pursuing the fake email account and the public defamation.

I read the document and pushed it back.

“There’s something missing.”

“What is it?”

“A public correction.”

“Ms. Sloane believes that would expose her to even more severe online harassment.”

I looked up at her lawyer.

“When she posted the edited video, she used my full name.”

“And when people reposted the lies to my company’s page, no one blurred my name out for me.”

He said nothing.

“I don’t want compensation.”

“I’ll cover my own legal fees.”

“I just want her to put the full truth back where the lie was and leave the correction posted.”

This time, Sloane was the one who couldn’t let go.

She couldn’t let go of the account she had only just made public again. She couldn’t let go of the followers she had left. And she couldn’t let go of admitting that she had already lost two years ago.

She cried on livestreams, cursed Grant in front of her lawyers, and blamed every person who had placed a bet in the old group chat.

But the more she raged, the clearer the record became.

No one needed to force her.

She was sealing off her own last escape route.

Three days later, a pinned statement appeared on her account.

The very first line read:

[I used Mara Ellis’s name to send false wedding-planning emails and organized “The Prenup Pool” to humiliate her publicly.]

Below it was the full timeline.

Every sentence she had once deleted had come back.
