Signed Mrs. Sterling Chapter 05
The second I left, Sebastian sauntered into Harrison’s office.
A fellow heir from a prominent family, the playboy always had a whiskey on the rocks in his hand.
“What’s going on? I just saw Julianne downstairs. She was walking like she just won the lottery.”
Sebastian plopped onto the sofa, kicked his feet up on the coffee table, and grinned. “Did the woman finally sign?”
Harrison yanked his tie loose, his eyes fixed on the agreement on his desk.
“She’s just bluffing. She’s too used to the lifestyle. She can’t handle being a normal person. The second she realizes thirty million won’t even cover her spending habits in this city, or when she starts missing her son like crazy, she’ll come crawling back.”
But even as he said it, a strange anxiety was creeping into his gut. The look in Julianne’s eyes had been too cold, like she was looking at a complete stranger.
Sebastian shrugged and raised his glass in a toast.
“Well, whatever the case, congrats, buddy. And Vanessa’s back in the country. It’s like fate. You two, the golden couple who should’ve been together all along, can finally…”
“I’ll take care of Vanessa,” Harrison cut him off, his voice stiff. “It’s my responsibility.”
The smile on Sebastian’s face faltered for a second. A flicker of something crossed his eyes, but he quickly masked it, took a large gulp of his drink, and said nothing more.
