I Was The Mafia’s Maid Now I’m Their Regret Chapter 05

Dragging my suitcase behind me, I knocked on the door of my dorm room at Aurelia.

One girl came to answer it, while the other two paused what they were doing to look over.

“I’m Emma Reed. Engineering.”

“Maya Patel. Pre-med.”

“Chloe Bennett. Math.”

I rolled my suitcase inside and smiled at them.

“Cosima Marino. Math, too.”

Chloe came right over.

“That’s great. We can go to class together.”

She glanced behind me, a puzzled look on her face.

“Your family didn’t come with you? My parents just left. They insisted on helping me make my bed.”

She was complaining, but her whole face was smiling.

“I told them they didn’t need to come, but they wouldn’t listen. People are going to think I’m still a little kid.”

She leaned closer and lowered her voice.

“Do you live really far away?”

Very far.

But that wasn’t the real reason.

The real reason was that they didn’t love me.

And I didn’t want to keep waiting for them anymore.

I just smiled and let the topic drop.

Once classes started, my life quickly fell into a routine.

My days were a simple triangle: dorm, classroom, dining hall.

I changed all my social media accounts, adding only classmates and professors, and left everything from my past behind.

I was a new Cosima now.
