My Mother’s Perfect AI Lied And Left Me For Dead Chapter 09
The moment he entered the building, he heard residents talking about a child in the garage.
He ran past the people gathered behind the police tape and saw me on the isolation sheet.
“Mo?”
He stopped a few feet away, as if he couldn’t process the scene.
Then he stepped forward slowly and touched my face with his fingertips.
My skin was cold.
Dad jerked his hand back. His eyes went red, and he spun around and grabbed Mom by the collar.
“You promised me. You said you’d let her out.”
“Why is she still here? Why is she like this? Answer me!”
The officers pulled him off her.
“Sir, step back. The medical examiner has confirmed the child has been deceased for over a day.”
Dad turned to look at Ava, his eyes filled with nothing but hatred.
“You kept saying her vitals were normal. She’s been dead for a day, and you’re still saying she’s normal.”
He pointed at Ava, his voice raw.
“You lying machine. Claire believed you, and we both ignored our own daughter.”
Mom stood there, silent.
An officer cuffed her. The metallic click made her flinch.
“Claire Ashford, you are being detained on suspicion of child endangerment resulting in death. You will need to cooperate with our investigation.”
Then the officer looked at Dad.
“Westley Maddox, we also need your full statement. The vehicle, the AI device, and the surveillance system in your home will all be taken as evidence.”
