He Deceived Me So I Destroyed His Family’s Legacy Chapter 10
The champagne glass slipped from Adrian’s hand.
It shattered on the floor.
Vanessa went pale.
“Adrian…”
But Adrian didn’t seem to hear her.
He stared at the manager kneeling outside, his voice cold and heavy.
“Say that again.”
The manager bowed his head to the floor, his body trembling.
“Mrs. Blackwood ran away.”
“She took Lily and the doctor treating her.”
“More than half the medication from the side wing is gone, too.”
The warmth of a bridegroom vanished from Adrian’s eyes.
She had run.
Nora had actually run away.
On the night of his public wedding, of all nights.
Did she hate him that much?
So much that she would rather flee with her gravely ill sister and a man who was practically a stranger?
Vanessa reached for his sleeve.
“Adrian, tonight is our wedding.”
“Maybe Nora just wasn’t thinking straight.”
“You can send the bodyguards after her. Why do you have to go yourself?”
Adrian looked down at her.
There were tears in her eyes. Wrapped in white lace, she looked especially frail, like a flower in the rain.
In the past, he would have felt sorry for her.
But at that moment, all he could see was Nora’s pale, defiant face.
She was carrying a Blackwood child.
How dare she leave?
