Tit For Tat Chapter 27

Tit For Tat Chapter 27

Harbor Dock entered its final construction phase that winter.

The humiliating email still surfaced occasionally in search results.

Legal could demand links be taken down, but there was no way to erase every screenshot.

One of the guests who had voted “No” wrote me an apologetic letter, saying he’d thought it was just a harmless joke between friends.

I didn’t reply.

I no longer spent my energy wondering why each person had laughed.

I spent it reviewing blueprints, meeting with future tenants, and rebuilding investor trust.

The damage didn’t magically heal.

But it also no longer dictated what I did when I woke up each day.

Before spring arrived, the first building at Harbor Dock passed inspection.

When the project director handed me the approval document, he smiled.

“This time, we can send the announcement without worrying.”

I looked at the button in our email system.

“Send to all partners. “

The same confirmation window appeared.

“Continue? “

I checked the recipient list, the attachments, and the permissions, one by one.

After making sure everything was correct, I hit send myself.

A few seconds later, the screen displayed:

“Sent successfully. “

This time, no one decided for me what other people were allowed to see.
