He Cheated With My Friend My Parents Helped Chapter 09

Sienna reached for his sleeve.

He didn’t seem to notice. He just turned and headed for the door.

Just then, Thomas’s phone played the recording Margot had sent.

“You didn’t do anything wrong. But Sienna is your half-sister…”

The air in the room went still.

All the color drained from Laura’s face. She lunged for Thomas’s phone.

“That’s been edited! Margot made it up!”

Gabriel looked at Sienna.

She avoided his gaze, shaking her head.

“I don’t know. I don’t know anything about that.”

Thomas and Laura started shouting at each other. Gabriel wasn’t getting any answers.

He rushed out of the house and sped toward the home he shared with Margot.

On the drive, the image of Margot on the floor, calling his name, flashed in his mind, and he pressed harder on the accelerator.

When he got home, the silence was deafening.

“Mags?”

“Margot?”

He called her name several times. No answer.

The agreement was lying on their bed. Eight years ago, he’d had a lawyer draft it and had signed it himself. He had long since forgotten it even existed.

Beside it were the discharge papers from the hospital.

They were the only proof that their child had ever been here at all.

When he saw Margot’s signature, a raw panic set in. He started calling mutual friends, then hired a private investigator to confirm she was safe.

While he waited for news, he finally understood how terrified he was of losing her.

That night, the doorbell rang.

Thinking it was Margot, Gabriel rushed to open it.

Sienna was standing on the porch.

Her eyes were red and swollen.

“Gabe, why aren’t you answering your phone? Your in-laws are fighting. I didn’t know where else to go.”
