I Lost Our Child Chapter 23

When she spoke about her first love, she was completely calm.

She even looked at me at one point and asked why I looked so serious.

Throughout the entire interview, she had been perfectly normal.

After it ended, she had even invited Thatcher and me to dinner in front of the whole crew.

When the video finished, the conference room was silent for a long time.

The manager picked up her glass of water and held it for ages without drinking.

The director looked at her. “Your studio edited out the context, made our employee’s name and workplace public, and now you want her to apologize for questions your own side confirmed.”

“What kind of logic is that?”

She forced a smile.

“I didn’t personally post the video. Perhaps someone on the team didn’t understand the full situation.”

Just a moment ago, she had insisted that I’d added the questions on the spot.

Now that the evidence was laid bare, it was the fault of an underling.

I looked at her.

“Who posted it is your internal matter.”

“I have three demands.”

“Delete the video.”

“Issue a public clarification.”

“And apologize to both me and the company.”

The manager frowned.

“Ava can’t handle any more public pressure right now.”

I looked at her calmly.

“So I’m supposed to shoulder all of it instead?”

She had no answer.

The legal team pushed a prepared letter toward her.

“If you don’t handle this by midnight tonight, we will release the original materials publicly and reserve the right to sue.”

After the manager left, the director stopped me.

I had originally thought he would bring up that old article that had been buried years ago.

He was silent for a moment before saying, “Back when Mr. Santoro came to the company, I disciplined the employee who wrote that article.”

“This time, I won’t let the same thing happen again.”

I was a little surprised.

He handed me the archive release form for the program library.

“The company will release the materials.”

“You won’t have to face this alone.”

At 11:50 p.m., Ava’s studio deleted the video.

But they didn’t clarify anything, and they didn’t apologize.

Ten minutes later, the company’s official account released the full, unedited interview footage, along with the confirmed outline from both sides.

Just the facts. Not one extra word.

The first place to explode was the comment section of Ava’s studio.
