He Chose Her On Our Wedding Night So I Took Everything Chapter 04
The next morning, I returned to the Hawthorne house with my assistant and a moving company.
The garage held the furniture I had shipped from my Manhattan apartment. Upstairs, my clothes and jewelry were still in their boxes.
I made a list and had the movers check each item.
I had purchased everything myself. The payment records, invoices, and delivery slips were all accounted for.
As for the Hawthorne family’s property, I wouldn’t be touching a thing.
It was nearly ten in the morning when Madison finally emerged from the guest room.
The moment she saw the movers downstairs, her expression soured.
“Elodie, who are all these people?”
She ran down the stairs and grabbed the nearest suitcase.
“Put that down. Who gave you permission to move anything out of this house?”
I stood in the doorway and looked at her.
“My name is on the luggage tag. The payment records are attached to the inventory list. Madison, you might want to read before you start grabbing things.”
She glanced at the tag but didn’t let go of the handle.
“So what? You brought these things into the marital home. That makes them marital property.”
She glared at the movers.
“Eric doesn’t even spend one night with you, and the first thing you do is bring a crew of men back to the house. What are you trying to pull?”
The two maids had already started whispering nearby.
