He Chose Her On Our Wedding Night So I Took Everything Chapter 25

The Hawthorne family did not withdraw their threat.

A week later, they filed for a temporary injunction, asking the court to bar Carrington from assigning the planned orders to alternative suppliers until the dispute was resolved.

I was in a meeting with several of those new suppliers when the filing arrived.

My assistant looked nervous.

“Will this affect the bidding process?”

“Projects that are already signed will move forward as planned.”

I handed the documents to our legal team.

“An unsigned framework doesn’t become a binding contract just because they filed an injunction.”

Wyatt didn’t tell me what to do.

He only laid out the potential risks, then asked, “Do you want to settle, or do you want the court to decide?”

“The court,” I answered without hesitation.

“What Hawthorne wants isn’t a settlement. They want every supplier in this city to think Carrington owes them an order.”

At the hearing, their side presented a slideshow of wedding photos, the guest list, and several drafts of the cooperation plan.

In the photos, I was walking with Eric under a floral arch, a serene smile on my face.

Their attorney pointed at the screen.

“The Carrington family publicly celebrated this union and advanced cooperation on the basis of this marriage. Hawthorne Apparel gave up other opportunities because of it.”

Wyatt submitted the unsigned framework, our internal risk assessments, and the written suspension notice, one by one.

“Wedding photos are not a substitute for a marriage license, and they are certainly not a substitute for a commercial contract.”

“The applicant has produced no approved credit documents and no evidence showing that Carrington required them to forgo any other opportunities.”

The judge turned to Eric. “Were you aware that the two parties planned to obtain the license the day after the ceremony?”
