He Chose Her On Our Wedding Night So I Took Everything Chapter 28
Her expression hardened.
“You think you’re so clean? If you hadn’t pulled the plug on the project, the company never would have had these problems.”
I gestured for the front desk to pull up the visitor log and had security switch on their body cameras.
“You are currently on Carrington business premises, claiming that Hawthorne’s quality control failures were caused by a project that was never signed.”
“If that is your official position, have your lawyer send it in writing. If not, you need to leave.”
The moment she saw the camera, her voice dropped.
“You weren’t like this before.”
“Before, I used to clean up Eric’s messes.”
I looked at her.
“Not anymore.”
Madison still refused to leave.
She took out her phone and called Eric.
The moment he answered, she put the call on speaker.
“You said Elodie would come back in the end! Why don’t you tell her yourself that the company’s problems have nothing to do with me?”
Eric’s voice exploded from the phone.
“Delete those chat records you posted! If you hadn’t made that scene on our wedding night, she never would have canceled the project!”
“Was I the only one making a scene? When you locked the guest room door, did I do that for you?”
The front desk staff and the few remaining clients heard every word.
Eric seemed to realize he was on speaker and abruptly hung up.
Madison stood frozen.
She had meant to shift the blame to Eric, but had only succeeded in confessing her own role in what happened that night.
I didn’t comment.
“Save the visitor log and the body cam footage,” I said to the front desk. Then I looked back at Madison.
“Now, leave.”
At last, she turned and walked away.
Later, I heard she contacted the authorities handling the property case and returned the items still in her possession.
As for the Hawthorne company investigation, she and Eric each submitted their own version of events.
The parts where they blamed each other did not absolve either of them.
The investigators were only interested in the testing reports, the approval records, and who had actually signed the relevant documents.
I made no move to condemn them.
I only turned over the records that belonged to them to the people who were supposed to see them.
