The Widow’s Fate They Chose Was My Escape Plan Chapter 12

Adrian stumbled as he snatched up the report. He glanced at it, and the words struck him like a bolt of lightning.

[*Sebastian Quinn remains critically ill and is not expected to live much longer. Lena Sterling has informed Miami police that she is not being unlawfully restrained and has refused relocation to a safe house. Separate reports indicate that if Sebastian dies, she is willing to end her life alongside him.*]

“If the report is accurate, they will be buried in the same cemetery. If you miss your sister that much, you can go home and set up a memorial for her.”

By the time Adrian left Hudson Crest headquarters, he was wandering the streets of Manhattan in a daze.

He couldn’t understand it. Three days ago, he had been happy that his sister was finally getting married. How had one departure become a final separation between life and death?

The moon was high by the time he made it home.

No one in the Sterling townhouse had slept. Ivy sat pale-faced in the living room, with Julian and Ethan across from her. The moment Adrian walked in, Julian stood. “Adrian, is the chairman going to bring Lena back?”
