He Put His Ex First So I Found My True Mate Chapter 04
Once my bags were packed, I could have left right then.
But the camera was still on the table.
As the “event coordinator,” I had agreed to upload the photos that night.
One last thing.
Graham’s laptop wasn’t locked.
I inserted the memory card and found a folder on the desktop labeled *Tidewatch Coast 2023*.
Inside, alongside the day’s pictures, was a translucent subfolder tucked in a corner.
*Internal Files*.
I paused for a second, then clicked it open.
At the top was a design file: *Final Draft Lottery Envelopes*.
Ten envelopes were laid out in neat rows, each seal marked with a different hidden sign. The ones assigned to Graham and Blair bore the same marks every time, no matter how the rounds changed.
There had never been any random pairings.
From the slow dance to the kayaking, every moment had been arranged in advance.
Below that was a spreadsheet.
The title read:
*Which round will Mara lose control?*
Six different people had placed bets on the slow dance, the bonus kiss, the family portrait, and the fight over the suite.
Comments were still being added.
“She’s still seriously keeping score.”
“The photos look so professional. You’d think she was part of the house staff.”
“My money’s on her crying tonight but still making breakfast for everyone tomorrow.”
I stared at the screen, my fingers tightening, little by little.
So none of it had been impulsive.
They had watched me do everything for them, just waiting for me to snap, treating my pain as entertainment.
At the very bottom, George had just left a new comment.
“Graham, what cross-pack foster house did you even find her in? She’s insanely useful.”
