He Put His Ex First So I Found My True Mate Chapter 15
I lifted my left hand and held the ring up in front of his face.
“Look closely. I’m engaged.”
Graham turned away, as if not looking could erase the fact.
“Blair and I are completely finished. Those friends don’t contact me anymore. All I want now is you.”
“I didn’t leave to force you to cut ties with anyone,” I said, looking straight at him. “I just don’t love you anymore, Graham.”
His face went white.
“All because of one game at Tidewatch Coast?”
“You’re still calling it a game?”
My voice stayed even.
“You were the one who had me take a family portrait of you and Blair. You were the one who shoved me into the common hall to sleep. You were the one who let her move into the master suite I had paid for, and who treated me like event staff and free childcare.”
“You also used my pack application to control me. You knew how badly I wanted a pack, and you turned belonging—something that should have been my choice—into a reward for my obedience.”
His lips moved.
“That was just a joke between friends.”
“Do you really believe that?”
I looked at the man I had once exhausted myself trying to build a home with, and my mind had never felt clearer.
“When I was with you, I wasn’t a partner. I was an unpaid household manager.”
“I handled the kids’ school, clinic visits, and camps. I looked after your family. I booked every trip, paid every bill, and cleaned up every mess.”
“You wanted to register with me not because you loved me, but because you and your family needed a stable, respectable household. I was capable, patient, and terrified of being shut out by a pack.”
He stood frozen.
I went on.
“You gave me a courtship ring and made me believe I would eventually be accepted. All the while, you were still acting like Blair was your real partner.”
“That promise never became an oath, a registration, or an equal choice. It was just a false hope you kept delaying on purpose.”
