I Survived My Father’s Test And Took His Throne Chapter 15
After I woke, Caleb asked me if I still wanted the throne.
If I didn’t, he would take me back to the northwest, where I could live far from the royal family.
If I still intended to inherit the crown, he would call in the border coalition forces under his command and make everyone involved in the fake coup pay the price.
Of course I wanted it.
From the time I could remember, my entire life had been training for one purpose: to one day rule Wilton.
More importantly, Evelyn had no empathy and was capable of selling out pack patrol routes over a private grudge. If she took power, the entire kingdom would suffer.
So I had Caleb find an unclaimed female corpse at the border with a similar build to mine.
We dressed the body in my clothes, left my bloodstained coat with her, and placed her downstream.
The river ruined her features, and my father’s desire to suppress the scandal prevented a public identification.
As expected, they believed I was dead.
Meanwhile, Caleb and I contacted the packs that had been affected by Evelyn’s dealings and waited in the shadows for the day she would be formally named heir.
What I hadn’t expected was that Julian would uncover the truth before we made our move.
When my father and Julian saw me, joy flooded their faces, like men who had recovered something they had lost forever.
They kept calling my name.
I did not answer. I only looked at Evelyn.
“Your good days are over.”
Caleb stepped forward, took the gun from her hand, and pinned her to the floor.
