My Fiancé Chose Her So I Chose Myself Chapter 22
Before the special meeting could even begin, Jenna posted a video online.
She had just been allowed home pending her case, and both the police bail conditions and the temporary Lakecrest injunction barred her from approaching me or any Northstar office.
In the video, she sat in front of a white sofa, her face pale and tear-streaked.
“I admit I was too impulsive that day. But all of this was Natalie’s plan.”
She cried to the camera for more than ten minutes.
She claimed I was using the acquisition and my pack transfer to take revenge on old friends. She said the expenses Travis had publicly disclosed were all gifts he had given her willingly. She also claimed that I now wanted to take away the few personal belongings she had left.
At the end, she pulled out a carved wooden box from under the table.
The dark oil stain on the bottom was still clearly visible.
“This music box was given to me by them.” Jenna hugged it to her chest. “Now Natalie even wants to take this back.”
Marissa sent me the video while I was in the office reviewing another acquisition plan.
“Her lawyer and the Lakecrest defense representative probably haven’t even seen this yet,” Marissa said.
“Save the link and send it to the police, the Lakecrest council, and my attorney.”
“That music box really is yours?”
“Yes.”
Three years ago, on Jenna’s birthday, Evan had posted a public photo.
In that photo, the music box sat on the table next to a butter-smeared napkin.
