My Fiancé Chose Her So I Chose Myself Chapter 25

My Fiancé Chose Her So I Chose Myself Chapter 25

“Do you want me to find a restoration specialist?”

I had been about to say no.

Then I changed my mind.

“Yes. Find a good one.”

Having boundaries didn’t mean every damaged thing had to be discarded.

The person who got to decide if something was repaired or let go should be me.

Brooke sent another apology through her lawyer.

This time, she didn’t mention Jenna, and she didn’t ask me to persuade Evan.

She wrote: *I know saying I’m sorry won’t make me your family or your packmate again. I’ll testify if needed, and I won’t contact you again.*

After reading it, I handed the letter back to my attorney for the file.

I didn’t forgive her, and I didn’t reply.

Sometimes, the only meaning an apology has is forcing the person who did wrong to finally state clearly what they did.

It is not a ticket back into my life.

Three days later, the restoration specialist called.

“The internal mechanism can be repaired, but the oil stain can’t be fully removed. Do you still want us to proceed?”

“Yes.”

“It won’t look the way it did when it was new.”

I looked out the window. London had just had rain, and sunlight was breaking through the clouds.

“I know.”

After I hung up, an invitation from TerraGrid’s board and the Lakecrest council inspection team appeared on my screen.

Travis’s inquiry would begin at nine in the morning, Chicago time.

I accepted the observer invitation.

Not as his former fiancée.

But as the person in charge of the acquisition.
