He Stole My Children I Refused His Crown Chapter 26
Lucian gripped a bloodstained tactical knife, his eyes fixed on me with a savage intensity.
“Willa, I’m going to kill you tonight.”
Ironvale’s guards were already locked in combat with the attackers.
Maya stood in front of me, sobbing as she shoved me toward the back door.
“Go! Hurry! I’ll be right behind you!”
Both the front and back exits were cut off.
I shoved her into a storage room with one hand and deliberately retreated down a side corridor, into a surveillance blind spot.
Lucian followed at once.
The tactical knife sliced past my ear, laying open my arm.
He looked at the blood and smiled, a twisted, broken thing.
“You think Elliot can protect you forever?”
“Beg me. Maybe I’ll spare your life and send you to the castle as a scullery maid.”
Leaning against a column, I met his gaze coldly.
“Lucian, you’re the one who’s going to die tonight.”
He raised an eyebrow, advancing on me.
“Still so defiant, even now—”
I didn’t wait for him to finish.
The moment I’d received the warning, I had hidden an emergency pistol from the Ironvale armory behind the flowerpot next to the column.
