His Love Is Not Visible Chapter 26

His Love Is Not Visible Chapter 26

“Now you’re doing the same thing.”

“You both just assume that everything anyone does is about competing for him.”

Vanessa’s fingers clenched together.

“Can you honestly say you don’t hate me at all?”

I thought about it seriously.

“I did.”

“Lying on that operating table, I hated the person who answered the call and didn’t hand the phone to him.”

The color drained from Vanessa’s lips.

“But later, I understood something more clearly. Even if you hadn’t been there that night, he still wouldn’t have been a good husband.”

“What you deleted was one call record.”

“What he ignored was every change in me over three months.”

Someone knocked on the door and reminded me that my next meeting was about to start.

I stood up.

Vanessa stood, too.

“Then why did you let him look into it?”

I took out a copy of my divorce decree and placed it in front of her. The court name and case status were printed clearly on the cover.

That was the only thing she needed to see.

“I didn’t ask him to investigate, and I’m not getting back together with him.”

“How in love you and Garrett once were, and whether you’ll ever end up together, has nothing to do with me.”

“Vanessa, I’m not playing the game you’ve imagined.”

I picked up my file and paused at the door.

“And one more thing. Garrett isn’t the person you should be apologizing to.”

She didn’t follow me out.

After my afternoon meeting, I got a text from her.

[I’m sorry.]

No explanation.

I saved the message, then blocked her number.
