He Sold Me Into Slavery I Returned As Queen Chapter 05
Greta knelt before the witness stand, trembling all over.
She was old now, her face a web of wrinkles, her hair almost entirely white.
But her eyes hadn’t changed.
Calculating. Greedy. Still appraising people the way one appraises goods.
Lucian said coldly, “Speak.”
Greta answered at once.
“On the night of the Full Moon Festival fifteen years ago, I was acquiring slaves in the southern district of the capital.”
“A boy came to me and said he had a she-wolf from a pack leader’s family, and he asked how much she would sell for.”
“I didn’t dare take her at first. But he said her family wouldn’t look for her for long.”
Cedric suddenly spoke.
“Ridiculous.”
He lifted his head. Though his face had gone pale, his voice was still steady.
“A slave trader trying to reduce her sentence will say anything to frame someone.”
Greta panicked.
“It was you!”
“You were thirteen. You had a burn scar in the webbing of your left hand and a small mole at the end of your right eyebrow.”
“You wrapped the girl in a red fox cloak when you handed her over. After she woke up, she even bit me.”
She yanked up her sleeve.
There was an old scar on her wrist.
“Right here.”
