He Sold Me Into Slavery I Returned As Queen Chapter 25

Alaric stood outside the registry.

He had grown much thinner, and his temples were nearly all white.

When he saw me, he took a step forward, then stopped.

“Ella.”

I didn’t answer.

His eyes were red.

“I don’t dare ask for your forgiveness.”

“I only want to ask if you would be willing to go back to the pack house, just to look.”

I looked at him.

“Go back and see what?”

His lips went pale.

“Your room is still there.”

“Rosalie lived in it for a while. Later, I had it sealed.”

I laughed once.

“She lived in it?”

Alaric’s face stiffened.

“I…”

I cut him off.

“You see, Alpha Alaric?”

“You couldn’t even manage to leave one empty room for me.”

He couldn’t say another word.

I continued, “Your greatest mistake wasn’t giving Rosalie the inheritance.”

“It was that you never truly tried to find me.”

“You accepted my death far too quickly.”

Tears fell from Alaric’s eyes.

I didn’t look at him again.
