His Lesson Killed My Mother Now He Will Pay Chapter 10
The court order was explicit: the evacuation company was to preserve all call recordings and operational logs; the podcast platform was to freeze all related content; and Graham was prohibited from destroying, altering, or transferring any electronic records.
The attorney of record was Aisha Bennett—a shark in privacy law.
Graham finished reading, then ripped his copy in half.
“A piece of paper from a lawyer doesn’t mean a damn thing.”
Sloane sneered. “Can you even afford Aisha for more than a few hours?”
I put the original documents back in my bag. “Then I’ll see you in court.”
Graham’s expression hardened.
“The foundation has a charity livestream tonight. You will go onstage, clarify that this was all a misunderstanding, and apologize to Sloane. If you don’t, I’ll countersue for malicious harassment and false accusations.”
He snatched the storm box and locked it in his office safe.
The latch clicked shut.
“When you learn to take responsibility for your actions, I’ll give it back.”
Security escorted me out. Just before the door closed, I heard Sloane ask, “Do you really think she’ll show up tonight?”
Graham’s voice was confident.
“She will. Her mother’s house is gone. She needs my money to relocate her. She won’t last three days on her own.”
