His Lesson Killed My Mother Now He Will Pay Chapter 22
At the pretrial mediation, I sat across from Graham for the first time as a plaintiff.
He had lost weight. The skin under his eyes was bruised with exhaustion, and the coffee in front of him had long gone cold.
Sloane’s attorney spoke first, naming a large settlement figure on the condition that I withdraw the suit and sign a permanent non-disclosure agreement.
Aisha didn’t even look at the document.
“Rejected.”
Graham lifted his bloodshot eyes to me.
“Nora, what do you want?”
I looked at Sloane.
“A public apology. Permanent removal of every course built on real cases. And written apologies and compensation delivered to every person whose privacy you violated.”
Sloane’s expression hardened.
“Impossible. Real cases are the core asset of my brand.”
“Asset?”
I pushed my mother’s death report across the table.
“Does my mother’s death also count as one of your valuable assets?”
The room fell silent.
Sloane’s lips parted, but no words came out.
Graham stared at the report, his fingers slowly tightening into a fist.
A moment later, he turned to his own lawyer, his voice rough but clear.
“Do what she says.”
Sloane whipped her head around to look at him, her face a mask of disbelief.
