He Gave Her My Home So I Took Back My Life Chapter 12
“Let’s begin,” I said to Mateo.
He passed the authorization to his team. At the same moment the foundation’s annual board meeting livestream began, the full doorbell footage, the ten eviction texts, the hotel bills, and the therapist’s denial were released to every major media outlet.
Within five minutes, the evidence was trending nationwide.
The tide turned completely.
Falsified evidence. False police report. Long-term psychological abuse.
Every accusation came backed by dates, invoices, and original files.
The Ashford PR team quickly put out a statement questioning whether the evidence had been obtained legally.
A moment later, Graham called.
“Nora, what the hell are you trying to do?” he shouted. “The foundation is finished, and you’re going to destroy the Hale name along with it!”
“No,” I said, my voice calm as I cut him off. “My lawyer has already formally revoked the foundation’s rent-free use of the estate and all artwork. From this day forward, any scandal belongs to the Ashfords alone.”
Silence fell on the other end of the line.
“You can’t do that! The Ashford family took you in—”
“I repaid that debt a long time ago.”
I opened the foundation’s old financial records on my laptop.
“In our first year of marriage, I brought in the first restoration grant through my mother’s contacts. The two key donations in years two and four were both secured by me. The foundation’s two most successful charity auctions—from the collections to the guest lists to the press—were all planned by me.”
Graham’s breathing hitched.
Clearly, he hadn’t known.
I smiled, though there was no humor in it.
“But your attention was never on the family’s work. You were too busy playing Vivian’s savior to notice.”
