The Annoying Sleepwalker Chapter 21

The Annoying Sleepwalker Chapter 21

Blair’s mother was left speechless.

Suddenly, Blair looked at me, crying.

“Brigid, I know I was wrong. Can you forgive me?”

“I really was just confused for a moment.”

I looked at her.

Last time, she’d said she knew she was wrong, too.

Then the next time, she “sleepwalked” again.

And the time after that, she cut my interview suit so badly it was unwearable.

Her apologies were never about changing.

They were about escaping consequences.

I said evenly,

“I don’t need to forgive you.”

“I just need you to compensate us, set the record straight, and move out.”

For an instant, Blair’s expression turned dark.

But almost immediately, she lowered her head and started crying again.

Ms. Albright finalized the terms.

Blair’s parents used Zelle on the spot to transfer part of the compensation.

The rest would be paid within three days, under a written agreement.

Blair herself had to post a clarification on Yik Yak under her real name.

The school would issue a formal disciplinary action and enter it on her permanent record.

The room assignment would be changed that same day.

She would be moved to a temporary single room in another building.

Student support staff and housing would continue to follow up with her.

She would also still have to submit to a psychological evaluation and a sleep study.

This time, no one said I was making too big a deal out of it.

Because the loss no longer belonged only to me.

That afternoon, Blair posted her clarification on Yik Yak.

“I am Blair Hawthorne.”

“Out of jealousy toward my roommate, Brigid Pierce,”

“I used sleepwalking as an excuse after damaging her laptop.”

“I later damaged other students’ property as well.”

“My previous claims that Brigid Pierce set me up or bullied me were false.”

“I apologize to Brigid Pierce and the other students involved.”

“I will take full responsibility for all compensation.”

The comments exploded.

“So she really was faking it?”

“What a nightmare roommate.”
