Raiden paused, seeming to catch their drift.
He smiled and explained, “We shot some scenes previously, but those are being replaced.
“In the final cut, the two of us will be the sole leads.”
He looked at me, looking highly amused, like he was just waiting for me to make a fool of myself.
I stood my ground.
A reporter shoved a microphone toward Cierra. “Ms. Flint, do you have any prior acting experience?”
Cierra tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and gave a charming smile. “I’ve never acted before, but honestly, I don’t think it’s that hard.
“Plus, I studied dance for six years, so my posture on camera is definitely going to outshine the formally trained actors.”
She paused, shooting me a pointed look. “Besides, some people have been in this industry for ages and are still stuck playing background roles.”
A few chuckles rippled through the crowd.
Clearly pleased with herself, Cierra kept going. “Honestly, I think natural talent beats hard work when it comes to acting.
“Some people can try for a decade and still not capture the chemistry Raiden and I share.
“Since we’re a real couple, our dynamic is just something you can’t fake.”
Beside her, Raiden nodded, gazing down at her with utter adoration.
“Exactly. The real leading couple is standing right here.”
Taking control of the conversation, he looked squarely at me. “Certain people need a reality check about their actual skill level. Snagging a minor supporting role is as good as it’s ever going to get for them.
“Don’t go thinking you’ll strike it big just by piggybacking on this project. Without me, the show is nothing.”
All eyes turned to me.
Raiden stared at me too, looking thoroughly entertained, just waiting to see how I’d react.
I flashed a perfectly innocent smile. “Are you confused, Mr. Barnard?”
He froze, looking genuinely thrown. “What?”
I glanced at Cierra before turning my attention back to him.
“We wrapped filming and dropped the second season a while ago. It’s sitting at number one by a mile.
“Even without you, the show’s been a massive hit.”
I paused, tilting my head like I was thinking it over. “But look at you, Raiden.
“You were so full of yourself, walking out of the promo event just to kiss your girlfriend. You almost tanked the whole show.
“Did you know every director in the industry is refusing to work with you now?”
