In Death I Obeyed You Most Chapter 07

Acting on forensic telemetry and records seized from Mom’s devices, federal agents and SWAT units raided the underground modification lab hidden in an industrial park upstate, arresting dozens of unlicensed surgeons, engineers, and brokers.

The investigation uncovered a chilling reality: the syndicate specifically catered to ultra-wealthy, control-obsessed parents.

Over a dozen other parents had subjected their rebellious children to similar mutilations under the guise of ‘behavioral remediation.’ All of them were indicted on federal racketeering and child torture charges, facing life sentences.

At the hospital, after receiving an emergency shipment of rare Rh-negative blood, Chloe finally regained consciousness.

She looked around the luxury private suite, but saw no sign of Mom.

Tugging on a nurse’s sleeve, she asked with a sweet pout, “Excuse me, where is my mommy?”

The nurse gave her a look of utter disgust, capped her syringe, and walked out without a word.

Moments later, Dad pushed the door open, his face haggard and shadowed with grief.

“Daddy!” Chloe immediately pasted on an angelic smile. “Where’s Mommy? Are you mad at me? I know I was wrong, I promise I’ll never be naughty again. Please don’t leave me, okay?”

Dad stared down at her with eyes as cold as glacial ice.

“Wrong? Tell me, Chloe, what did you do wrong?”

Unnerved by Dad’s chilling stare, Chloe burst into crocodile tears: “I… I shouldn’t have bullied Nora, I shouldn’t have thrown myself down the stairs on purpose to frame her… Daddy, I’ll never do it again, please forgive me!”

Hearing this confession, Dad let out a dry, venomous laugh.

“How old are you?! How could someone so young possess such calculating, venomous cruelty?!”

“Hulda and I gave you the world, spoiled you like royalty, and you framed our biological daughter to protect your vanity!”

“Do you have any idea what you’ve done?! Nora is dead! She was murdered by you and that madwoman Hulda!”

“D-Dead?!” Chloe’s crying froze mid-breath, every trace of color draining from her cheeks. “Impossible… Nora was just standing outside my room yesterday…”

“She was already a corpse a week ago!” Dad’s voice shook with suffocating agony. “To shield you, Hulda sent her to be butchered and turned into a machine! Because of your mother’s command, she was run over by a car, and even in death, her corpse was driven by a microchip to serve you two like a wooden doll!”

Chloe shuddered in sheer horror, shaking her head violently: “I didn’t mean to! I just wanted Mommy to yell at her! I just wanted Mommy to love me best! I never wanted her to die! Daddy, please don’t abandon me!”

The last ember of warmth in Dad’s eyes went out.

“Forgive you?”

“You orchestrated the destruction of my daughter—how could I ever look at you again? From this second on, you are no child of mine. I am surrendering your custody to Child Services, and you will never set foot in my sight again.”

“No! Daddy! Please don’t send me to foster care! I want to go home with you! I’m sorry!”

Chloe lunged out of bed, grabbing at Dad’s coat, weeping hysterically.

Dad stepped back with cold disgust, leaving the room without looking back as her wails echoed down the hospital corridor.

Returning to the empty townhouse, Dad felt his spirit unravel in grief.

He stepped into my bedroom, looking at the torn textbook pages that had been painstakingly taped together, and the crushed stationery salvaged from the trash. Tears streamed silently down his face.

His eyes caught the laptop on the study desk. In the open browser history, he discovered the search queries Chloe had left behind:

【How to fake falling down the stairs convincingly】

【How to make parents hate their biological daughter】

【How to get an adopted sibling permanently kicked out of the house】

Each search query was a poisoned dagger into his chest.

He couldn’t fathom how the sweet girl he had pampered like a princess could harbor such vicious calculations.

More than that, he despised himself—he hated his endless business trips, his willful blindness to what went on at home, his failure to protect me from Mom’s malice, until I was driven through living hell into a lonely, unmourned grave.
