He Used Me As A Testing Tool Chapter 03
Lisette let out a scream and deliberately threw herself into Gabriel’s arms.
“Julie, why didn’t you knock before coming in?”
Gabriel was interrupted, visibly annoyed.
He casually threw on a robe, shielding Lisette behind him, and looked at me coldly. “Why did you come back?”
“This is our home!” I shouted, deeply hurt.
“Gabriel, how could you bring her here? How could you do this to me?!”
He let out a mocking laugh.
“The marriage funds come from me, and I paid for this house. Why the hell can’t I?”
I trembled with anger.
“Yesterday, you sent me to another man’s bed. Today, you brought her into our home. You’re heartless, Gabriel!”
“I told you, it was just a test.”
Gabriel lit a cigarette. Through the swirling smoke, his face looked frighteningly cold.
“And I took a risk too. What’s wrong with getting compensated?”
“What risk?”
I found it unbelievable.
I was drugged and hurt. What right did he have to say he took a risk?!
“I was worried while testing Ryan’s loyalty.
“What if something really happened between you and him? Wouldn’t you have cheated on me?
“I went through so much mental stress. What’s wrong with getting Lise to make it up to me?”
I looked at him as if I were looking at a monster.
I couldn’t believe the man I loved had such twisted logic!
“Get out!”
I pointed at the door, my voice trembling.
“Julianna, let me get this straight—the one who should leave is you.”
Gabriel stood up and grabbed my wrist.
He didn’t even care that I was still wearing my torn dress, nor did he notice how pale I was.
He dragged me to the door and threw me outside.
“Since you’re so high and mighty, do it elsewhere.”
The door slammed shut in front of me.
I stood barefoot, shivering in the cold wind.
A neighbor opened their door after hearing the commotion. Seeing my disheveled state, their eyes were full of contempt.
“Isn’t that Mr. Austen’s fiancée? Why was she thrown out dressed like that?”
“I heard she was caught seducing a groom at a friend’s wedding…”
I covered my ears and ran downstairs like I’d gone mad, wanting to hide.
A low voice sounded from behind me.
“Ms. Winslet, are you okay?”
I looked up in shock, realizing it was Ryan.
He had already changed out of his groom’s outfit into a formal suit, with a luxury car parked behind him.
“Ryan?” I froze. “Why are you…”
“Let me introduce myself again.”
Ryan walked over, took off his jacket, and draped it over me, a hint of sympathy in his eyes.
“I’m the heir of the Presley Group, Ryan Presley.
“I was merely testing Lisette by pretending to be poor.”
He smiled self-deprecatingly.
“As it turns out, not only is Lisette a greedy gold digger, she’s got a heart as vicious as a snake.”
I wrapped his jacket tighter around me and asked warily, “What do you want with me?”
“Revenge,” Ryan said bluntly.
“They ruined my wedding and humiliated your dignity. Are you really willing to just let it go?”
I fell silent.
His gaze rested on me. He frowned slightly, then let out a sigh.
“How about this? Take a hot shower and get some new clothes. We’ll talk after that.”
At that moment, he was the only person I could rely on.
Guided by him, I got into the luxury car.
