The Wife He Tried To Erase Chapter 11

The largest charity gala in New York.

Tonight’s main character was the rising artist Valentina, whose three “final masterpieces” were about to be auctioned.

Valentina wore a haute couture red dress and was full of pride.

Although Nicholas had driven her away that day, he had suddenly changed his attitude in the past few days. Not only did he announce publicly that he would host a charity auction for her, but he also hyped up those three paintings to astronomical prices.

It seemed he still could not let her go.

“Now, please welcome Mr. Gallagher to give a speech!”

The spotlight shone on the center of the stage.

Nicholas wore a black suit, his face cold and unreadable.

He held a microphone in his hand, his gaze slowly sweeping over the crowd of celebrities below, finally settling on Valentina in the front row, whose face was full of anticipation.

“Today, there is indeed an important item for auction.”

Nicholas’s voice was deep, spreading throughout the venue via the microphone.

“But before the auction, please watch a video.”

Valentina’s smile had not yet bloomed when the large screen behind her suddenly lit up.

It was not a display of her paintings.

Instead, it was a blurry surveillance video.

In the footage, Valentina stuffed a thick wad of cash into the pocket of a doctor’s white coat, her face twisted in a sinister smile: “Remember, turn the voltage to the maximum. I want her to become stupid, crazy, and never remember what happened that day!”

The whole audience was in an uproar.

Valentina’s smile froze instantly on her face. She stood up in terror: “No… this isn’t real! Turn it off! Turn it off now!”

“What does Mr. Gallagher mean by this? Sacrificing family for justice?”

The sound of discussion surged like a tide.

Valentina trembled all over, turning to look at Nicholas on the stage: “Nicky! Someone is framing me! This is fake! Please help me explain!”

Nicholas looked at her as if he were looking at an ant.

He slowly walked off the stage, step by step, until he stood in front of Valentina.

The bodyguards immediately stepped forward, pressing Valentina’s shoulders and forcing her to kneel on the ground.

“Valentina.”

Nicholas looked down at her from above, his voice so calm it sent chills down the spine, “Didn’t you like that sanatorium so much? Just yesterday, I already bought it.”

Valentina’s pupils shook violently: “You… what do you mean?”

“One hundred times.”

Nicholas raised one finger and gently shook it.

“However much Emmy suffered, you will suffer the same. And I will have the doctor set the voltage to the multiple you requested.”

“No! I am Ms. Hughes! You can’t do this to me!”

Valentina screamed and struggled, “Nicholas, you are crazy! I saved your life!”

“Saved me?” Nicholas sneered, pulling a yellowed photo from his pocket and slapping it hard against her face.

It was a snapshot of the scene of a car accident.

The person dragging his blood-soaked body out of the car was a girl with a butterfly birthmark on her arm.

Valentina’s arm was smooth and unblemished.

Emilia’s arm had that birthmark, which was a scar left by burns when she saved him years ago.

“So even this was fake.”

The last trace of warmth in Nicholas’s eyes disappeared completely.

“Take her away.”

“No! Nicky! I was wrong! I really was wrong! Please, I’m begging you!”

Valentina’s shrill screams echoed through the banquet hall, but no one sympathized.

Nicholas stood where he was, watching her being dragged away, but he felt no pleasure in revenge.

There was only endless coldness.

The truth was finally revealed.

But where was his Emilia?
