The Third Time My Alpha Accused Me Of Cheating I Left Chapter 04
Esme’s POV
I stopped. Grayson’s voice was low and heavy:
“Come here. Apologize to Asher. You pushed him just now—you scared him.”
I hesitated. Perhaps this was the last time we’d see each other. I no longer had the energy to argue.
I walked over and crouched down.
“I’m sorry.” I looked into his eyes one final time, truly looked. “Mommy shouldn’t have pushed you.”
Asher sniffled—then suddenly spat in my face.
A glob of saliva landed on my cheek, sliding slowly downward.
In that baby voice of his, he said: “Dirty woman. You deserve it.”
Grayson watched coldly, adding in a flat tone: “You sleep around so much even your own child can’t stand it.”
I slowly raised my hand and wiped the spit from my face. Then I laughed—a bitter, incredulous laugh. “I sleep around?”
“Since the Mate Ceremony, the two of you have been attached at the hip for four years!”
“You even gave my child to her to raise! Grayson—who’s the one sleeping around?”
“We’re about to dissolve the Mate Bond, and you’re still lying to yourself. How much longer are you going to keep this up?”
Naomi’s face went white. Her eyes reddened instantly. “Esme, how can you slander me like that? Alpha, I—”
“Esme, it’s been four years. Haven’t you caused enough trouble?” Grayson’s gaze locked onto me.
“Fine—since you think we’re not innocent—” He walked toward me, step by step. “Then let me show you what ‘not innocent’ actually looks like.”
He had the nanny take Asher away. Then he seized my wrist and dragged me into the bedroom.
The moment the door closed, he tied me to the bed frame with a necktie.
Then he turned, pulled Naomi toward him, and leaned close to her ear.
“Do you want this?”
Naomi froze for a moment—then wrapped her arms around his neck, her voice breathy and coy. “Alpha, I’ve been waiting for this day for so long…”
They were tangled together in seconds. Clothes scattered across the floor.
I bit my lip. The words forced themselves from my throat:
“Grayson, your Beta has already drafted the banishment report. We’re about to dissolve the mate bond. Why do you still need to humiliate me like this?”
He paused mid-motion, fingers gripping my chin. “Humiliate you? You think you are still worth humiliating in my eyes?”
“Alpha, don’t get distracted…”
Naomi pressed against him from behind, blowing softly in his ear.
He released me, turned, and climbed onto her.
I closed my eyes. Tears fell in silence.
Until a voice exploded in my mind—a Mind Link from the pack caretaker, her consciousness trembling as it crashed into mine:
“Esme, you need to come immediately! Your mother heard you’re being banished from the pack—she thinks she’s been a burden to you—she’s climbed to the rooftop—”
“What?”
“She said—”
Before the caretaker could finish, a searing pain ripped through my head. The Mind Link severed abruptly. My skull felt like it had detonated.
“Grayson!” I was practically screaming. “Something’s happened to my mother! Let me go—please, let me go!”
He glanced back at me.
A mocking smirk hung at the corner of his mouth. “Wasn’t Esme just accusing us of being inappropriate? I let you watch—and now you want to make up some excuse to leave?”
“I’m not making it up! The caretaker sent a Mind Link—my mother found out about the banishment—she can’t handle it—”
“Enough.” He straightened up. “The report was just filed with the Pack Council. How would your mother even know?”
“You knew she couldn’t take that kind of shock and you told her anyway. Whose fault is that?”
He turned back toward Naomi.
I thrashed against the tie, my voice shredding: “Grayson! I didn’t tell her! Just let me go—there’s still time!”
“My mother was hit by that car saving you and your son—please don’t treat her life like a joke…”
“ESME!!!” His eyes were filled with nothing but exhaustion. “Is your mother your hostage? Every time you cheat, you either play the ‘my son is young’ sympathy card or throw your mother’s life-saving sacrifice in my face!”
“I didn’t—” Tears crashed down. “Please…”
Naomi wrapped her arms around his waist: “Alpha, everyone knows Linda only threw herself in front of that car for her grandson’s sake. If it had been just you, would she have done it so selflessly? You’ve already done more than enough for her!”
“Come on… don’t let her ruin the mood…”
The last trace of hesitation vanished from his eyes.
I stopped hoping for his conscience to surface. My bones cracked and popped as I shifted into my wolf form and charged for the door. My head slammed against the wood—a dull thud—blood streaming down.
He strode over, grabbed me, and hurled me to the ground. “Esme!”
“You brought this on yourself. Today’s show—you’re watching whether you want to or not.”
He ripped off a length of tape and wrapped it around me from head to tail from head to tail, then hauled me up and shoved me inside the wardrobe. “Listen well!”
The wardrobe was locked.
In the darkness, I heard Naomi screaming. “Deeper, Alpha.”
Again. And again.
I closed my eyes, enduring the knife-like agony as the Mate Bond began to tear apart.
【I, Esme Hale, reject Grayson Vale as my mate.】
The moment I finished the ancient incantation, my heart turned ice-cold.
…
The next evening, Grayson finally returned to the Alpha residence. He stood in the living room for a moment.
Rubbing his temples, he called out—force of habit:
“Esme, headache. Make me a bowl of that hangover broth.”
No answer.
He frowned and turned to the servants. “Where’s the Luna?”
The servants looked bewildered. “Alpha, we’ve been looking for the Luna too. Asher spiked a fever this morning—kept crying for his mother—it hit thirty-nine degrees. And also—the hospital called. They said the Luna’s mother jumped from the building last night. The body is still at the hospital. No one has come to claim it…”
Grayson went still. “What did you say?”
Something seemed to click. His voice tightened. “You… you didn’t let her out?”
The servants stared blankly. “Let… let who out?”
He spun around and went upstairs, his pace quickening with every step.
The instant the wardrobe door was pulled open, he froze completely—
The snapped necktie.
Shredded tape… Dried bloodstains still smeared across the inner walls.
But no one was inside.
