No More Yielding Chapter 04

Two days later, at the airport departure hall.

I dragged my suitcase, with Isabella following quietly by my side.

Arthur called, his tone dripping with condescending charity.

“Did Daniel drop you off at the airport?”

“Once you settle down at Thunder Bay, I’ll book a tour group for you to relax. Stop walking around with that bitter housewife look.”

I looked at the word “Boston” printed on the boarding pass, my tone calm.

“Got it.”

Arthur was very satisfied with my attitude.

“That’s more like it. No need to throw a tantrum. Margaret is taking Isla today to handle the Official Enrollment Status transfer for her early decision admission slot at the University of Toronto. Once I’m done here, I’ll find time to visit you two. Put Isabella on the phone.”

I handed the phone to Isabella, and Arthur said in a deep voice.

“Drop the spoiled princess attitude when you get there. As long as you’re willing to endure hardship, you can still contribute to the country in the future. Daddy is doing this for your own good.”

The corners of Isabella’s lips curled up ever so slightly, a sorrow of complete resignation.

“I won’t be a nurse, Dad.”

The person on the other end of the line instantly flew into a rage.

“Isabella! You dare go back on your word? Your Permanent Academic Record has already been transferred.

“If you don’t report in, your life is ruined!

“If you dare run away, don’t expect me to care even if you die out there!”

Isabella listened quietly to the end.

“Fine, as you wish.”

She hung up directly, pulled out the phone card, and tossed it into the trash can.

I also blocked Arthur and turned off my phone.

“Let’s go.”

I took Isabella’s hand and walked toward the boarding gate.

Never looking back.

After being hung up on, Arthur’s face was full of anger.

“Isabella is just spoiled rotten by Adhara!”

Isla affectionately linked her arm through Arthur’s.

“Thank you, Uncle Arthur. Once I get into the University of Toronto, I will definitely repay your kindness.”

Before she could finish, the director of the admissions office ran out sweating profusely, his face deathly pale.

“Colonel Pendelton, something happened! The early decision admission slot… can’t be given to Isla.”

The smile on Isla’s face instantly froze.

Arthur frowned.

“What do you mean? I personally pulled strings to yield that slot. Why can’t it be given?”

Wiping his cold sweat, the director pulled out a document.

“Yesterday afternoon, Isabella’s Permanent Academic Record was already pulled by the American Ivy League! Full scholarship, combined bachelor’s and master’s program!

“Furthermore, Adhara, through an overseas lawyer, has already canceled all of Isabella’s domestic Official Enrollment Status.

“Isla… not only can’t attend the University of Toronto, but she won’t be admitted to any other university either!”
