My Masturbation Recording Was Listened To 146 Times By The Ice Hockey Hunk Chapter 05
I dragged myself to class the next day running on zero sleep.
I had dreamed about Zach.
The room was pitchblack, like the power had gone out. I stood in the doorway of his bedroom hugging a throw pillow and whispered his name.
“Zach…”
Sensing that I was calling him, for some reason I thought of what happened that night again.
I pushed the door open and took two steps inside. A scorching, sweatdamp hand clamped tight around my wrist from behind.
I gasped and spun around. Zach stood there in total darkness. I could feel the heat rolling off his skin. His breathing was rough and ragged, his dark eyes fixed unblinkingly on mine.
Zach lowered his head. One hand curled around my waist, the other cupped the back of my neck. He kissed me, hot and hard, releasing months and months of pentup longing and restlessness in that single kiss.
When our lips parted his warm breath brushed my burning cheeks, his voice husky with leftover desire as he murmured my name. “Serena.”
“Say my name again.”
That was when I woke up.
I could not focus on a single lecture point all morning. My mind was filled only with Zach.
After class, my friend dragged me to the campus food court. I had just picked up my tray when someone called my name from behind.
“Hey there.”
I turned around. A man stood a few steps away holding a blue folder. He had a fresh, gentle look, a complete contrast to the sharpedged Zach out on the ice rink.
“I’m Liam. I run the campus radio station,” he said with a smile. “I heard you speaking a moment ago—your voice is really distinctive. We’re looking for a new host for our late-night call-in show.”
He held the folder out to me; it contained the host recruitment notice.
Growingup, comments about my voice were almost always laced with malice: you’re faking it, you’re doing it for attention. Even though Liam was genuinely kind, I stayed instinctively guarded.
“Your voice really is wonderful. No pressure at all—just come try out if you’re interested.”
I was weighing my options when my phone buzzed.
Zach: “Wanna grab dinner tonight?”
Bittersweet irritation surged through my chest. Only days ago he had insisted we needed distance, and now he was asking me out for dinner.
I flipped my phone facedown, accepted the folder, and smiled at Liam. “Alright. I’ll come audition.”
