He Left Me For My Sister Now He Begs For Me Back Chapter 22

A month before my wedding, Sebastian’s attempts to contact me became relentless.

He had probably finally accepted that I wasn’t acting out of spite and that I wasn’t waiting for him to come back.

He sent an email every day. I opened none of them.

He sent gifts. I had every one returned, unopened.

Eventually, he stopped sending things and started waiting outside the Crawford gates instead.

He waited in the rain. He waited in the wind.

One day, he waited from morning until dark. Even Maya started to feel sorry for him.

“Is he sick? His wolf seems to be in bad shape.”

I was finalizing the guest list for the Westmoor Pack and didn’t look up.

“Call a Healer for him.”

“You’re not going to check on him?”

“Why would I?”

Maya had no answer for that.

I looked up and smiled faintly.

“He’s Victoria’s husband. If I go out and take care of him, that’s what would be truly impossible to explain.”

Later, even my sister came to me.

She had grown terribly thin. Standing outside my bedroom door, her first words were, “Are you satisfied now?”

I stared at her.

“With what?”

Her eyes were red and swollen.

“Sebastian can’t stop thinking about you. Isn’t this what you wanted all along?”

I found the accusation so ridiculous I almost laughed.

“When did I ever say I still wanted him?”

“If you didn’t want him, why did you hold on to the engagement for seven years?”

I fell silent.

So, in my sister’s mind, the mere fact that I had once possessed something was a crime.

And when she took it and discovered it wasn’t as perfect as she’d imagined, that, too, was my fault.

I asked, “Then what do you want me to do?”

She stared at me.

“Go see him.”

For a moment, I honestly thought I had misheard.

“What?”

“Tell him you never loved him. Make him give up completely.”

I looked at her for a long time, then laughed.

“Victoria, when you were taking things from me, did it ever occur to you that the things themselves might end up broken in your hands?”
