He Left Me For My Sister Now He Begs For Me Back Chapter 30

Seven days before my wedding, Sebastian officially filed for divorce with the Pack relationship registry.

My sister refused to cooperate from the rehabilitation center, so he came to find me.

It was the last time I saw him before I got married.

He stood at the corner of the street, looking gaunt and haggard.

“Adeline, I’ve decided to end things with her. Whether she signs the papers only affects how long the review takes. It won’t change my decision.”

I nodded.

“Oh.”

He had probably imagined all sorts of reactions from me, but not this flat acknowledgment.

“You have nothing else to say?”

“No.”

His eyes slowly turned red.

“I know I was wrong. Adeline, I really know I was wrong. That day, when I saw Victoria perform, all I could think was that she was different. She knew how to say things that made me happy. She relied on me. She would light up over the smallest gift. But you… you always seemed like you could handle everything on your own.”

I listened quietly.

He talked for a long time, his voice growing hoarse.

“I always thought that no matter what I did, you would still be there. Only now do I realize—it wasn’t that you didn’t need anything. It was that I never bothered to ask.”

That part, at least, was true.

I smiled faintly.

“Now you know.”

He looked up, a desperate spark of hope flaring in his eyes.

Then I said, “So maybe you’ll be kinder to someone else in the future.”

The light in his eyes went out.
