The Prince Let Me Die Now He Begs For My Love Chapter 08

Adrian cut me off coldly.

“You’re lying.”

“I gave this to her as a coming-of-age gift. She knows what it means. She would never casually pass it on to someone else.”

For a moment, I felt dazed.

He really had said in a letter that the bracelet was precious.

It had belonged to his maternal grandmother and had originally been kept by Queen Helena.

The letter had said:

“My mother originally intended to give this to the royal marriage candidate she chose.”

“I don’t believe that person deserves it, so I asked for it in advance and gave it to you.”

“If we ever meet one day, I’ll know you by this bracelet.”

All these years, I had treasured it more than any piece of jewelry.

Even when Evelyn had wanted to try it on, I had refused.

But now Adrian stood in the scorching sun looking down at me, his eyes as cold as if he were judging a stranger.

“You must have used your status in the bloodline registry to steal this from her.”

“You are not worthy of wearing it.”

My heart sank.

I knew that no matter what I said, he wouldn’t believe me.

I lowered my head and pocketed the scattered beads.

Adrian then ordered the guards to restart the timer.

The remaining ninety minutes would not be shortened by a single second.

When Evelyn heard what had happened, she rushed over to plead for me.

Faced with her, Adrian’s tone finally softened.

“You indulge her too much.”

“When we’re married, she’ll become my family, too. If we don’t correct her now, she’ll only make bigger mistakes later.”

I watched the shadow on the ground shift from behind me to in front of me.

By the time it finally ended, I could no longer feel my legs.

The guards stepped back. I tried to stand, but my body pitched straight toward the stone.

A hand caught me firmly just before my forehead hit the ground.

I had no strength left at all.

I only managed to make out a young, unfamiliar face.

Then my body sagged against him, and I clutched his arm, unwilling to let go.
