The Diary Of An Unloved Wife Chapter 11
Harlow’s face went completely pale.
She hurriedly grabbed Beckett’s hand, sobbing.
“You can’t yell at me! Didn’t you promise to take good care of me!”
She was panicked.
She felt that Beckett had changed.
“Beckett, I know you love me. You just can’t divorce her for the sake of Iris’s father. Don’t worry, I won’t fight Iris for anything. I just want you by my side.”
He violently shook her off as if shaking off something filthy.
“Love you?”
“Harlow, you are completely insane. I am only taking care of you because of the baby you’re carrying!”
“As for Iris, no one in this world has ever been able to force me to do something I didn’t want to do!”
“Marrying her is the only thing in my life I’ve never regretted.”
Harlow’s eyes widened.
She swayed as if she couldn’t keep her balance.
“What did you say…”
“You don’t love me, you love Iris…”
Beckett closed his eyes. “Yes. I will set up a trust fund for you. You and this child won’t ever have to worry about money for the rest of your lives. But stay away from Iris.”
After saying that, he shut the door straight in her face, leaving Harlow outside crying alone.
He returned to the study, where traces of Iris’s presence still lingered.
“I’m sorry…”
“I will definitely find you.”
Spring arrived, and autumn left, year after year.
Time, to me, was nothing more than the sun rising and setting again.
In the blink of an eye, it was already my fifth year in New York.
Over these five years, I earned my doctoral degree, held my own exhibitions, and saw far more of the world.
I witnessed the Great Migration in Africa.
I saw the most beautiful auroras in Iceland.
And I enjoyed the endless, boundless ocean.
All of these were things I wouldn’t have even dared to dream of during the years I was married to Beckett.
However, the only annoying thing was the divorce.Â
