I Signed Away Eight Million To Leave Him Chapter 29
Sloane didn’t wait for the police to finish their investigation.
She took my father on three different talk shows.
On camera, he wept about being driven out by the Vale family, claiming he had spent years too afraid to return to Florida because Beatrice wanted to cover up her “charity scam.”
Sloane, meanwhile, kept showing old photos of me at Vale Estate and at formal dinners, repeating over and over how much support I had received.
After those programs aired, reporters reappeared at the school gates.
They chased after students, asking if I had traded my mother’s death for a life among the rich.
The principal called me into his office.
“Some parents are worried this could affect the school.”
I didn’t do what I had done three years ago—pack my things and leave.
“If the school needs stronger security, I’ll cooperate.”
I placed the restraining order, the old police report, and the deed and mortgage documents for my house on his desk.
“But I have done nothing wrong in my work, and I will not resign because someone else is lying.”
He read through the documents and was silent for a moment.
“Then you’ll continue to work as usual.”
At noon that day, Beatrice’s lawyer contacted me.
He had the original waiver—the one my engagement ring had once held down.
The paper, the signature, and the date had all been preserved.
“Mrs. Vale would like to release this publicly to prove that when you left the estate, you had already given up the eight-million-dollar trust.”
