He Moved His Lover In I Moved My Money Out Chapter 08

“Nora, let me go in and see her.”

“You don’t have that right.”

“I know I was wrong.” He lowered his hands and bowed his head. “I shouldn’t have used my connections to suspend your project. But you blocked every way I had to reach you. I just wanted to make you stop and talk to me.”

In the past, every time he showed this kind of weakness, I would have found an excuse for him.

Not anymore.

I looked past him at the specialist team hurrying up the hall.

“When you used your influence to suspend my project, did it ever occur to you that I was the one paying my mentor’s medical bills?”

Graham jerked his head up, stunned.

“I didn’t know she was sick. If I had known—”

“Of course you didn’t know,” I cut him off. “You only cared about forcing me to bend. Whether I had an income, what I would use to pay for her care, whether her treatment would be delayed—none of that ever crossed your mind.”

His lips moved, but no more words came out.

I lifted a hand and pointed toward the elevator.

“Take your specialists and get out.”

Graham stood there, his fingers clenched so hard the knuckles had gone white.

At that moment, the light over the emergency room went out. The doctor came through the doors, and I rushed toward him.

“Doctor, how is she?”

The bed was wheeled past me, and I hurried after the medical staff without looking back.

At the far end of the corridor, Graham stood alone in the shadows, watching me disappear with the gurney.
