He Moved His Lover In I Moved My Money Out Chapter 09
By the time my mentor was transferred to a regular room, it was late at night.
I sat on a bench in the hallway, waited until I knew she was stable, and only then did I open my phone.
An Instagram notification showed Claire posting a photo of Owen in the uniform of Newport’s top private school.
The caption read: Grateful to the angel who paved the way for us. Our new life has finally begun.
Expressionless, I opened the encrypted file my lawyer had just sent.
The forensic accountant’s report showed that Graham had siphoned more than six hundred thousand dollars from our joint accounts and my personal inheritance. The money had not only gone into renovating the Newport house, but also toward a massive “donation” to Owen’s school.
Every transfer date, every routing number, every final use was laid out with perfect clarity.
I replied to my lawyer: If he refuses to sign the agreement, file the report with both the court and the IRS.
By the time I left the hospital, the parking lot was nearly empty.
Graham was leaning against his Bentley. His shirt was wrinkled beyond recognition, and cigarette butts littered the ground at his feet.
He had clearly been waiting a long time.
“Nora.” He blocked my path, his voice rough. “We need to talk.”
“There’s nothing to talk about.”
I went around him and hit the unlock button on my car.
“All communication from now on goes through our lawyers.”
I had barely opened the car door when Graham suddenly reached out and pulled me into a hard embrace.
