He Moved His Lover In I Moved My Money Out Chapter 10

“I won’t agree to the divorce.”

Graham held me tightly, his voice shaking.

“Nora, I was wrong. I’ll make Claire and Owen move out tonight. I’ll give the house back to you. I swear I’ll never see her again. Please, just give me one more chance.”

I shoved him away.

“It’s too late.”

I pulled the summary of the audit report and the money trail chart from my bag and slammed them against his chest.

The pages scattered with a rustle. On the first page, “misappropriation of premarital inherited assets” and “false tax reporting” had been circled in red. Over six hundred thousand dollars had flowed from my accounts straight to the Newport property and Owen’s school.

Graham lowered his eyes and read only a few lines before every trace of color vanished from his face.

“By noon tomorrow, sign the divorce agreement,” I said, looking at him. “Otherwise, the full report will be on the desks of the Whitmore family trust committee, the IRS, and the SEC at the same time.”

His head snapped up, and all that remained in his eyes was fear.

“You’d really destroy everything I have just to get a divorce?”

“You destroyed everything we had first.”

I got into my car, locked the doors, and started the engine.

Graham took two stumbling steps after me and pounded on the window. I didn’t roll it down. I didn’t look back.

As my car pulled out of the parking lot, I glanced in the rearview mirror.

Graham stood alone in the middle of all those scattered pages, completely motionless.

Like a statue that had been hollowed out from the inside.
