Leaving At Last Chapter 10
“My parents are watching.”
“Didn’t you say you wanted to make a good impression?”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
The moment I reached them, my eyes welled up.
I hugged my parents and didn’t let go for a long time.
Auden gently wiped the tears from my cheeks.
I took his hand, my voice still a little hoarse.
“Dad, Mom, this is my boyfriend, Auden.”
They didn’t look surprised at all.
“We know.”
“Didn’t we just have a video call with him yesterday?”
Auden smiled and slipped an arm around my waist.
“So Blair’s finally ready to make me official.”
After we rested at home for a bit, Auden and I went to a building supply store.
This was the main reason for our trip back.
Over the past year in Sonoma, I had studied baking with Auden’s mother.
I wanted to open my own dessert shop there.
But I still hadn’t found a countertop material I was completely happy with.
Before we got on the plane, I’d even asked Auden, “Do you think this is too much trouble?”
“How could it be?”
“Forget about picking out materials. I’d follow you anywhere.”
“Besides, you missed home, right?”
“Video calls aren’t the same as seeing them in person.”
We shopped for the entire afternoon.
At one point, I turned around and saw that Auden’s face had gone a little pale.
I tensed immediately.
“Is it your heart?”
“Why didn’t you say anything if you were feeling unwell?”
He waved it off, insisting he was fine.
