He Watched Me Freeze Now He Begs For My Return Chapter 13

Sarah told me they’d gone there again today.

I texted back a few words.

“Have security call the police. Give my lawyer’s card to the officers.”

At the same time, I authorized the company to report them for trespassing every single time they showed up—no persuasion, no warnings.

The first time, the police escorted them out.

The second time, security stopped them the moment they tried to unfold their signs.

The third time, when Robert heard the police say the incident would go on his record, his face finally changed. He was out on bail. If he violated the conditions, he could be taken back into custody at any time.

They never appeared at the company again.

Since force hadn’t worked, they tried another tactic.

I don’t know where they got my new number, but texts began pouring in.

“Nora, Mom and Dad know we were wrong.”

“We failed you. At the end of the day, you’re still our biological daughter.”

“Paige has been diagnosed with severe depression. She won’t sleep or take her medication. She’ll only listen to you now. Will you come back and talk to her?”

When I begged them to save me from a blizzard, they thought I was ruining the mood.

Now that Paige was spiraling, they suddenly remembered I was their daughter, too.

I didn’t argue. I sent back one sentence.

“If you send one more message, I will submit the rest of the unreleased GoPro footage to the district attorney’s office.”

After that, the screen went silent.

No apologies. No pleading. Not even a token “you misunderstood.”

I looked at my phone and almost laughed.

It wasn’t that they didn’t know how cruel public humiliation was. It wasn’t that they didn’t understand that their “jokes” could destroy a person.

The moment it was their reputation and freedom on the line, they understood the consequences better than anyone.

They had always known exactly what they were doing to me.

They just didn’t care.
