He Gave My Ring To Her Now He Wears His Regret Chapter 06
At one in the morning, Nico finally realized I was gone.
Alessia was drunk, draped over his shoulder and refusing to let go.
The others were still egging them on, telling them to finish playing out the “wedding night.”
Nico’s irritation grew.
He called my phone over a dozen times. Every call went straight to voicemail.
Marco laughed.
“Virginia’s definitely hiding in her room, crying. Just go give her a hug and it’ll be fine.”
Leo wasn’t worried either.
“She put up with seven rounds of blank cards. You really think she left? At worst, she’ll just sulk tomorrow.”
It was easy for them to think that.
Because for seven years, I had never really left.
Once, Nico forgot to pick me up.
I waited in a thunderstorm for three hours.
My phone was ruined. My shoes were soaked through.
When he finally arrived, all he said was, “Why didn’t you just call an Uber?”
I cried and told him I wanted to break up.
The next day, when I heard his stomach was bothering him, I still showed up at his apartment with a thermos of homemade soup.
Another time, Alessia got dumped in the middle of the night.
Nico left me alone on my birthday to go comfort her.
I finished the cake by myself, making a wish over the candles that he would come back soon.
When he got home at four in the morning and found me asleep at the table, he just patted my head.
“You’re always so easygoing.”
And I forgave him. Again.
I had forgiven him too many times.
That was why they all thought that no matter what they did, I would always be right where they left me.
