The Stolen Savior: He Loved The Wrong Sister Chapter 03
Through wave after wave of insults and laughter, Nora climbed to the top of the parking garage again and again, only to be kicked down the stairs again and again.
She tumbled down the stairs relentlessly, covered in cuts and bruises, until she finally passed out from blood loss. Only then did the torment stop.
When she woke, Nora found herself in a hospital bed.
It was a private room paid for by the Hawthorne family. Her injuries were documented as “a fall down the stairs.”
The area around her bed was empty. No one came to visit. No one stayed by her side.
She had been completely and utterly alone.
Just then, her phone buzzed. A message from Camille: “If you want to know the truth, come to Room 143.”
Nora’s instincts screamed that it was a trap. But she dragged her battered body to Room 143 anyway.
Because she refused to be the fool left in the dark.
The door to Room 143 was slightly ajar. Inside, a man with dyed blond hair stood before Lucian, grinning obsequiously.
“Mr. Hawthorne, I’ve taken care of Nora exactly as you instructed,” the blond man said. “I did what you said—made her climb to the top of the parking garage, then kicked her down. She rolled down those stairs ninety-nine times!”
Lucian frowned slightly. “Is she okay?”
“That fat pig’s tough as leather. What could happen to her?” The blond man laughed. “She just bled a little and passed out. I already dropped her at the hospital.”
Only then did Lucian’s frown ease.
Outside the door, tears were already streaming down Nora’s face.
It wasn’t that she hadn’t thought about calling the police. But that video was still on Lucian’s phone.
So it had all been his doing after all.
She should have guessed. What were the odds? Camille falls down the stairs, and immediately after, Nora gets cornered by thugs and kicked down the stairs ninety-nine times.
This was all Lucian getting revenge for Camille. Camille fell once, so he made Nora fall ninety-nine times.
“Lucian, don’t you think that’s going too far?” Camille asked, pretending to be concerned. “Nora didn’t push me on purpose. You shouldn’t have retaliated like that.”
Lucian’s gaze turned cold. “I know whether she meant it or not.”
Those words pierced Nora’s heart like needles, one after another.
So in his mind, she was truly that vicious.
Nora couldn’t bear to listen anymore. She turned and left, heartbroken.
So she never heard what Lucian said next. “I admit, I went too far this time.”
“But Camille, I did it to show you that I’ll protect you. Anyone who hurts you, I’ll pay them back tenfold, a hundredfold. So you don’t need to resort to something as low as private photos to get back at Nora.”
Lucian was a man of principle. He believed in an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Using private photos to threaten a girl was beneath him. He wouldn’t stoop to that.
Tears immediately welled in Camille’s eyes. “Lucian, you must think I’m horrible.”
“I don’t want to be this way. But Nora has private photos of me. I wasn’t trying to threaten her. I wanted to use her private photos to trade for mine.”
Lucian’s expression darkened. “You don’t need to worry about this anymore. I’ll handle it.”
The next morning, Lucian appeared in Nora’s hospital room, radiating cold fury.
“Nora, explain this!”
Lucian threw a laptop onto the bed in front of her.
And on the screen, covering it completely, were private photos of Camille.
Nora was dumbfounded. The laptop was hers, but what were those photos? She had never taken private photos of Camille.
“Nora, Lucian already knows. Just admit it,” Camille said tearfully. “You’ve been using these photos to threaten me for years, forcing me to do whatever you said.”
“I didn’t.” Nora was shaking with rage. “Camille, stop twisting things!”
She was so furious because this was exactly how Camille had driven Nora’s mother to her death ten years ago.Â
