The Stolen Savior: He Loved The Wrong Sister Chapter 04
Camille was the daughter of the woman her father had on the side. But that woman had poor health, and when Camille was five, she died of illness.
Mr. Hartley had no choice but to bring Camille into the Hartley household.
Nora’s mother had fallen gravely ill from the shock. But she was a kind woman at heart. Seeing Camille’s pitiful, orphaned appearance, she softened and let her stay.
The grievances between adults weren’t something she wanted to project onto a child. So she’d always treated Camille well. Growing up, whatever Nora had, Camille had too.
But one Christmas, Camille deliberately stripped off her clothes and climbed into bed with Nora’s uncle Daniel.
Nothing actually happened that night. Uncle Daniel was drunk and dead asleep. He never even noticed there was a child in his bed.
But Camille looked up with red-rimmed eyes, the picture of desperation. “Mom, please don’t send me away. I’m willing to sleep with Uncle Daniel. I’ve always done what you told me and slept with Uncle Daniel whenever he visited.”
At those words, Mr. Hartley’s face went livid. Nora’s mother clutched her chest and stumbled backward, barely staying on her feet.
“Camille, what nonsense are you talking about?” Her mother tried to explain, but before she could finish, her father slapped her hard across the face.
“You vicious woman! Camille is only ten years old!”
Yes—how could a ten-year-old child be so malicious, so cruel?
At ten, Nora was still a silly little girl who loved cartoons.
She was too naive to even understand what was happening. All she knew was that that day was chaos. Her father and Uncle Daniel got into a fight. Her father shouted about calling the police. Uncle Daniel furiously dragged Camille toward the hospital for an examination. And in the middle of it all, Nora’s mother coughed up blood from sheer rage and grief.
And then Nora lost her mother forever.
Now, Camille was using the same tactic, accusing Nora of secretly photographing her to threaten her.
The memory of her mother made Nora’s heart ache. She clutched her chest. “I didn’t take those photos. Camille took them herself and planted them on my laptop. She’s framing me.”
Lucian’s face darkened instantly. “Nora, do you think everyone enjoys being photographed the way you do? Camille is a good girl. Those photos would ruin her.”
“There are a hundred ways to frame someone. How stupid would she have to be to use her own reputation as the price?”
Nora froze. Enjoyed being photographed?
She had gone against every instinct, swallowed her fear, and let him film her just to please him. And now he was saying she enjoyed it?
That night, she had trembled with fear, and he had mistaken it for excitement.
Because she was fat, because she was starved for love, because she couldn’t say no to people—that made her loose, shameless, and cheap in his eyes?
Nora was in so much pain she could barely breathe. But Lucian’s gaze only grew colder. “If you had just deleted the photos and sincerely apologized to Camille, I would have let this go.”
“But Nora, you’ve disappointed me. You don’t show an ounce of remorse. So I’ll have to teach you a lesson—an eye for an eye.”
With that, Lucian nodded toward the door and ordered coldly, “Someone tear off her clothes and drag her outside. Let her see what it feels like to be stripped and watched and photographed.”Â
