The Stolen Savior: He Loved The Wrong Sister Chapter 21
Nora shot Lucian an icy glare. “Well, I don’t want to spend it with you.”
She tried to pull her hand free and find another seat.
But Lucian held on, refusing to let go.
He was too strong. No matter how Nora struggled, she couldn’t break free.
Anger flared in her eyes, and she glared at him.
That glare only made Lucian smile. He curved his lips and softened his tone. “Be good. The deans will be here any second. It wouldn’t be polite for you to be standing.”
Nora glanced back and saw several faculty members entering the auditorium, escorted by the department chair.
She didn’t want to make a scene in front of everyone, so she swallowed her disgust and sat back down.
“Nora, don’t worry. I’ll clean up everything from the past before I come back to pursue you properly,” Lucian said in a low voice. “From now on, I won’t let anyone hurt you again.”
Nora’s only response was to coldly put her earbuds back in.
She was telling him with her actions that she didn’t want to hear a single word.
To the solemn strains of the graduation march, the ceremony officially began. Names were called from the stage, and one by one, students walked up to receive their diploma covers from the faculty. When it came time for the outstanding graduate award, the name called was Nora’s.
After the awards, it was time for the students’ graduation party.
The deans and faculty cleared out, leaving the space for the students to celebrate, to go wild.
Nora had no interest in the festivities. Once she had her diploma in hand, she stood to leave.
But Lucian grabbed her hand tightly. “Nora, this time, I’m not letting you walk away.”
“Wherever you’re going, I can go with you. But you’re not disappearing on me again.”
He’d nearly gone insane searching for her these past months.
The feeling of searching the entire world and never finding her had been agony. If not for the graduation ceremony holding him together, he might have truly lost his mind.
“Mr. Hawthorne, I no longer have any connection to you. Please mind your boundaries.” Nora’s voice was frigid. “If you keep harassing me, I’ll call the police.”
Lucian’s heart ached again. But he also knew he no longer had the right to force her to stay.
So he tried a different approach.
“Nora, don’t you want Camille to pay for what she’s done?” Lucian asked, his tone cold and serious. “I have the surveillance footage of her poisoning Snowball, the original files showing she fabricated those photos, and the prescription records from that clinic. It’s enough to give the law firm her father hired a serious problem.”
Nora, who’d been about to leave, stopped dead in her tracks.Â
