The Stolen Savior: He Loved The Wrong Sister Chapter 22
Nora wasn’t one to hold grudges. But the history between her and Camille ran too deep.
Camille had driven her mother to death. Her uncle Daniel had been framed and slandered. The police had come to ask questions, and in the end, no charges were filed—but from that day on, the entire neighborhood looked at him differently. Behind his back, everyone called him a child molester. His wife divorced him over it, and he fell into severe depression.
Her mother’s relatives had largely cut ties with Nora because of that incident. Only Aunt Nadine still checked on her, calling regularly to ask how she was doing.
Beyond that, Camille had spent Nora’s whole life framing and slandering her. She’d set a fire to kill her, stabbed her with a knife, tried to strangle her with a rope. She’d even drugged Nora with weight-gain hormones for over a decade, turning her into a two-hundred-pound woman.
With so much hatred and resentment, pretending she felt nothing would be a lie.
Nora had considered the legal route. She’d gone to the police once, with her medical report and the pill bottles she’d secretly photographed. The officer who took her statement filed a report, and then nothing happened. Her lawyer told her the medical report only proved hormones were in her system—not who put them there, or for how long. The chain of evidence was broken. They couldn’t file charges yet.
She was one person. She couldn’t fight an entire law firm dedicated to protecting that family’s interests.
But Nora knew Lucian could.
So she wavered. After hesitating, she ultimately decided to return to the Hawthorne estate with Lucian.
She wanted to watch Camille pay for everything she’d done.Â
