The Stolen Savior: He Loved The Wrong Sister Chapter 23
Camille was a year behind Nora, so she hadn’t attended the graduation ceremony. She was sprawled on the sofa in the Hawthorne manor, bored, scrolling through her phone.
When she saw Lucian come in, she lit up and rushed over. “Lucian, you’re back! I missed you so much—”
She stopped mid-sentence. Because behind Lucian stood a figure both unfamiliar and hauntingly familiar.
Camille stared at the slender, striking figure, and hatred exploded in her eyes. “Nora? How did you get so thin?!”
It was true what they said—hatred lasted as long as love.
Many people couldn’t recognize the new Nora, but both Lucian and Camille had spotted her instantly.
“Once you stopped drugging me, the weight came off naturally,” Nora said calmly.
“Nora, you’ve got it all wrong. I never drugged you.” With Lucian present, Camille immediately slipped back into character, eyes brimming with tears, radiating innocence and hurt. “Why won’t you ever believe me?”
“Stop acting.” Lucian swept a cold, disgusted glare over her. “I know the truth now.”
“You weren’t the one who saved Snowball ten years ago. But you were the one who poisoned him a few months ago!”
“And you’ve been putting weight-gain hormones in Nora’s food for over a decade!”
Camille’s face turned sickly pale. But without hard evidence, she wasn’t about to confess. She kept crying, her entire body trembling. “I didn’t. Lucian, I really didn’t.”
“Did Nora say something to turn you against me? I’ve never lied. I never poisoned Nora or Snowball.”
But before Camille could finish her performance, her legs gave out and she collapsed to the floor.
“You made Nora spend over a decade being called a fat pig.” Lucian looked down at her. “I guarantee that wherever you spend the rest of your life, there won’t be a single person there to speak on your behalf. That’s not too harsh, is it?”Â
