The Stolen Savior: He Loved The Wrong Sister Chapter 29
“Lucian, I know you want to start over, but we’ve missed our chance. I don’t love you anymore.” Nora’s voice was soft. “The most I can do now is forgive you and stop blaming you. But that’s the limit. We can never go back.”
The words tore through Lucian’s heart like a blade.
His heart was left shredded and bleeding.
Still, he pressed on. “Nora, I know I’ve made countless mistakes. I betrayed your love. Losing you is what I deserve.”
“I’m not asking you to come back to me right now. I’m only asking for a chance to pursue you again. Won’t you even give me that?”
Nora lowered her eyes. “No.”
Then she turned and walked away.
She didn’t want to string Lucian along, giving him false hope and letting him waste his time on her.
But even faced with such firm rejection, Lucian refused to give up.
“Nora, saying no won’t stop me. I’ve already made up my mind to pursue you!” Lucian called after her retreating figure. “As long as you’re not married—no, as long as you’re not dead, I’ll keep chasing you until the day you love me again!”
“You’re mine! I will never let go! Unless I’m dead, I will never let go!”
Nora said nothing. She thought she’d let time be the judge.
If Lucian’s love and obsession truly ran that deep, perhaps one day, she’d accept him again.
Perhaps one autumn, when the maple leaves turned red once more, she’d walk back to his side.
